H.G. Wells’ Manufactured Monsters

Continuing from last month’s column, I decided to continue exploring the slippage between horror and science fiction, this time with Wells’ classic The island of Doctor Moreau. A story that is a pertinent now as it was then, it focuses on the desire to create at any cost, of disregarding moral and ethical laws in the pursuit of progress.
